Background

Almost 2 billion people were affected by natural and manmade disasters in the 10 years between 1990 and 1999

Apart from the initial trauma of the death of family and the loss of homes victims suffering is exacerbated by infrastructure breakdown which prevents information on aid requirements from reaching responders.

These situations have prompted the formation of the Reconnaissance Search And Rescue Team –ReSART©

ReSART© is a non-governmental charity, which freely and voluntarily provides its services in times of crisis.

Mission Statement

Reconnaissance, Search And Rescue Team’s [Reg charity 1096287] mission is to provide a FREE rapidly deployable team charged with the initial task of reconnaissance and crisis management.

Reconnaissance, Search And Rescue Team’s role is to transform ‘raw’ information gathered by its Reconnaissance teams within the crisis zone into intelligence for local co-ordinators, rescue and humanitarian teams as they are deployed.

Teams are then provided with maximum preparation for the hazardous environment they face and this then enables the most efficient deployment of those teams in the field.
